Our Origin
The inception of SST began in the operating room, when founder and practicing surgeon, Teodor Grantcharov, MD sought to visually capture his surgeries for performance improvement. After all, countless industries leveraged video analysis and data science for improvement, but healthcare lagged – with so much more at stake. In studying the relationship between clinical performance, processes, and outcomes, Grantcharov realized the need for replacing traditions, dogmas, and personal bias with data and science through a scalable, highly technological platform. This was the spark that ignited SST – the belief that bringing visibility and objective insight to healthcare delivery could transform clinical practice, reduce risks, and, ultimately, save lives.
