At St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, the OR Black Box® was created to improve surgical procedures and patient safety. The OR Black Box records detailed data during minimally invasive surgeries, including video footage, conversations among surgical staff, and environmental factors like room temperature and noise levels. The goal is to identify where errors occur during surgery, understand their causes, and develop targeted training to prevent them in the future.
